*Good morning, residents of 1670 Nelson Street. And by that I mean early, early morning - Princess Celestia is accustomed to waking long before the dawn to raise the sun. But today, she found that she was not in her palace in Equestria. Far from it; she was outside, in a small red wooden shed... which was in itself not a problem - she wasn't the type to fuss over that sort of thing.

But having a collar around her neck tied to a stake in the ground was a little more irritating.

So really, don't mind the clatter in the backyard as a tall, snow-white horse with magnificent pegasus wings, a long unicorn horn, and a multicolored mane and tail physically rips the stake out of the ground by tugging on it.

If you wait, she'll even try to come inside to find out where she is.*

*Having escaped her collar, Celestia is exploring Mayfield - by flying over it with her wings.

So hello, Mayfield. There might be a pegasus-unicorn flying out of the sky to land right near you. Just look at that awesome mane she has shimmer - where the colors never seem to stay the same no matter how you look at it.

And she is regarding you with curiosity, especially if you aren't a pony.*

I'm pretty sure we're getting taken from alternate realities, or dimensions, or—somethin'. Most humans you'll meet here, if they say they're from "Earth," then yeah, it's where you'll find a lotta humans.

Where I'm from ... not so much. Not anymore.

Well—I ain't gonna lie, it is. Where I'm from, Earth got invaded by what we call'a "Bane." Those of us who survived it, we're fighting the Bane on other worlds far away. I ain't seen Earth in seven years.

I live in the royal city of Canterlot with my sister, and the two of us raise the sun and the moon, respectively, every day.

The land was ruled by a being named Discord, the incarnation of chaos. There was no order or certainty in things, and the people were miserable.

My sister and I harnessed the powers of an ancient magical artifact to defeat him, and brought peace and order to Equestria together.

[Balin looks a bit surprised. Someone like that, if Equestria was anything like a planet in a more typical universe, would be even more powerful than Gilgamesh and his continent-splitting sword.]

Unfortunately, yes. Discord could warp reality itself as he saw fit. We were only able to stop him with the power of the Elements of Harmony.

Essentially, yes. We sealed him away in stone and used the Elements' power to restore order and sense to Equestria.

Oh! Um, sorry, eheh—I'm so used to'a Eloh's language it's kinda like second nature to me now. But this Logos Element means "Control."

[Balin closes his hand into a fist temporarily, dismissing the Logos Element and summoning another in its stead:]



An'is is'a Logos Element for "Chaos."
